Cc2531 coordinator with 3.0, is it possible to add routers? (dumb question)

This is maybe a dumb question, is this possible or do I need to use source_routing firmware for coordinator?

Coordinator: CC2531ZNP-with-SBL.hex
Router: router-cc2531-std.hex

(Haven’t tested it, and asks so I don’t have to do multiple trips to location of the system)
